Plotagon Story is a free animation app that you can use to bring your stories to life. Developed by Plotagon, this lifestyle tool makes animation easier with presets of characters, backgrounds, and actions–only waiting for your unique stories to get everything moving.
Plotagon Story is a different animation platform from others such as FlipaClip - Cartoon Animation. Whereas traditional animation apps do it frame by frame, this app lets you be the director of a scene: choosing characters to appear in it, the background, the speech, and the actions. This makes animation accessible to people without technical expertise in the field.
Insert elements and bring them to life
When you start Plotagon Story, you will be asked to start a new project by adding a scene through the movie clapper icon. Then, you will be given the option to choose from over 200 backgrounds. After the background, you can start inserting characters from the app’s wide range of preset character designs into your scene. There are main characters, whose dialogues you can edit, and extras.
In inserting dialogues, you can either type their lines and have it spoken by the preset voice that comes with the character or you can lend your own voice through a recorded dialogue. What makes this Plotagon app convenient is that each line is represented by a separate card. So if you need to rearrange the lines, you can just drag the dialogue cards and reorder them.
The only limitation with this app is that there is only one animation style. While there are various backgrounds and dialogue options, the character designs follow a similar style–a visually obvious quality. This limits the aesthetic and style available for artists and storytellers looking for variety in their work. However, for people who only need a medium to bring their stories to life, this is more than enough.
